I trying to troubleshoot the treadmill.
The controller board turns on and the control panel works.
But when you start the motor, it runs for a second and the controller board AC input fuse blows. It's a 15Amp fuse.
I think it's the motor that shorted out somewhere in the coils. The motor is a 19V 18Amp motor. So I would expect the coils to read around 5 Ohms. But I read about 0.6 Ohms. But maybe the 18Amp rating is not the stall current of the motor?
Putting a drill batter on the motor, it did turn the motor. Also the motor does generate voltage when I manually spin it. Easily get 19V output using a DMM as the load.
So it sounds like the motor is bad since it has such a low coil resistance, but maybe that is normal for these motors? If it is, then it must be the controller board.
I'm going to get rid of the treadmill, but want to keep the motor. But I want to make sure it's a good motor.
Has anybody else measured the coil resistance on theirs with a similarly rated motor that I can compare it too?
